I tried about every beginning piano course I could find, but I don’t want you to waste as much time as I did. That is why I would like to tell you about some of the things that didn’t work, and of course what did finally work for me.

When I was a child my parents did try to get me into a beginning piano course, but I found myself hating every session. The teachers seemed too negative about my progress and while I was able to learn a few beginning songs for piano, they were classical songs which I found boring. That was my first experience beginning music lessons, and it ended with me refusing to practice.

The desire to know how to learn the piano was still there, and the piano from my childhood lurked in the background of my life. It was after college graduation before I found myself beginning music instruction again.
